12 Day wildlife and gorilla safari in Uganda

This 12 days Uganda Safari starts and ends in Kampala or Entebbe. It includes 1 gorilla permit of $600 per person in the final costing. The safari takes you to Bwindi impenetrable national park in western Uganda. This park has got over 340 mountain gorillas making it half of the mountain gorillas remaining in the whole world. The safari also takes you to Murchison Falls which is famous for variety of wildlife and boat cruises, the animal species in this park include; lions, elephants, bush bucks, antelopes, kobs, birds and many more.
This tour also takes you to Queen Elizabeth famous for the Kazinga channel and many animal species including the tree climbing lions found in Ishasha sector of the park. The other animal species found in this park include; the chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge, the birds, elephants, kobs, antelopes etc. you will also get a chance to visit Kibale National Park which is also famous for chimpanzee trekking and many other primate species including the golden monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many more. This wildlife safari will take you to Lake Mburo National park, this is the smallest park in Uganda and is famous for the Zebras and the Giraffes and many other animal species.

After an early breakfast, our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe at 7:00 am, he will also brief you about your 3 Days safari to Murchison falls and you will start your 6 hours journey to Murchison Falls National park. You will go through the Luwero, and later have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking; here you will find both black and white rhinos.
After tracking, you will have another stopover in Masindi where you will have lunch, after lunch proceed to the park, after making payments for park entry drive straight towards the lodge, relax the whole evening, have dinner and an overnight.

After an early morning breakfast, you will embark on a game drive at the delta and expect to see variety of animals including elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Hartebeest, Uganda kobs, Oribis and waterbucks. After the drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon go for a boat cruise on the along the Nile which will give you an exciting panoramic view at the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. You will encounter crocodiles, hippos, and birds on the river banks like kingfisher, cormorants and bee-eater.
You will then hike up to find the falls through Bakers trail and also be able to stand at bakers stone (brings you closer to the bottom of the falls) this hike is a bit tuff but it’s fascinating as you will enjoy to see the falls at different points and finally when you reach at the top of the falls, you will be amazed and eventually forget about the tuff hike. After spending a good time at the top of the falls, you will meet your driver who will transfer you back to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge as above

Transfer early from Murchison falls National Park after breakfast; pass via the Lake Albert escarpments, which will give you good views of this beautiful lake. Have a stopover in Hoima at any hotel to have your lunch, after this, drive passed Lake Nkusi joining along Lake Kyoga. You will as well pass through many traditional villages as you enjoy local people carrying out agriculture. Have a chance to take some photos of the rolling hills filled with traditional cash crops. You will as well enjoy fort portal which is in the foot hills of Rwenzori Mountains filled with tea plantations, after enjoying this platform of green tea, you will continue to Kibale National Park which is one of the great rain forest in Africa. This forest is mainly famous for around 13 Primate Species with chimpanzees being the main tracked species. The other primate species include the golden monkeys, black and White colobus monkeys, as well as the bird species. The park is also next to Bigodi wetland which is managed and owned by the local people in the area, this place is famous for primate watching as well as bird watching.
Arrive in the park late evening and check-in your lodge for a restful evening, dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, connect to Kibale forest for your chimpanzee tracking experience with your packed snacks and water. You will first report at the park headquarters for a briefing before entering the forest for the activity.
The actual chimpanzee trekking is expected at 8:00 am to start. Chimpanzees are considered to be the closest relatives of human beings since they share 98% of their DNA with that of the Humans. As you proceed with your search of these beautiful chimps, you will as well view many other primate and animal species including; the LHoests Monkeys, black and White colobus monkeys, red tailed Monkey, grey cheeked Mangabey, pottos, bush babies and many bird species including; the little green bull, yellow spotted nicator, rumped tinker bird, crowed eagle, green breasted pitta, black bee spotted eater as well as the elephants which are the mammals.
Immediately after , the long trek, return to the lodge for lunch as you prepare to visit Bigodi Wetland sanctuary were you will view more primates like the blue monkeys, baboons, otters, Bush bucks, mongoose , bush pigs and many more. The place is also known for many bird species like the great blue turaco and the green breasted pitta, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

On this day, have a normal morning breakfast. After, drive and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, this park is just 3 hours drive away from Kibale National Park. Arrive at the park and check in to the lodge and have lunch. After lunch, prepare for a visit to katwe salt lake and bird watching.
Katwe salt lake is a crater lake situated inside Queen Elizabeth national park, an internationally important area of savannah that is home to a wide range of species. Several streams drain into the lake, but it has no outlet, so intense evaporation during the dry seasons leads to the water becoming extremely salty
The katwe salt lake tour gives our visitors a unique insight into the fascinating yet tough process of salt mining, as well as providing an alternative income for katwe local communities. Visitors also pass the nearby bird sanctuary Lake, home to thousands of birds including flamingoes from October to May.
After the visit, head back to lodge for dinner and overnight.

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will set out for the morning game drive in search for early risers in the Kasenyi area. The park has diverse Eco-system of grassy plains, rivers, crater lakes, forests, swamps and lakes. These are a home to various types of wildlife (big 4) and a game drive in Queen Elizabeth will reward you with views of animals such as lions, leopards, forest hogs, buffalos, elephants, waterbuck, Uganda Kob and other types of antelopes.
Return to your Lodge for lunch and after, go for a 2 hours launch / boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This cruise will let you pass through a place of the highest concentration of hippos, crocodiles and you may also see many animals drinking at the water’s edge. The cruise also offers good platform for photography, bird watching and games.

Wake up so early and proceed for a walk through the Maramagambo forest which is one of the second largest forests in Uganda. This forest is a habitat to a number of primates and many forest dwellers. The forest harbors many wildlife species including; the butterflies, birds, bats and the chimpanzees which are found in Kyambura Gorge with in the forest. This walk will also take you to the volcanic caves which are home to thousands of bat species as well as the predator pythons. These pythons prey on the bats which leave within the cave. The walk will expose you to the blue lake Kimeranjo which swallowed an elephant and got its name! More so, this walk will take you to the Crater Lake and the Kyambura gorge where the chimpanzees are trekked from.
Later in the afternoon after enjoying your lunch, you will proceed for the game drive through the Ishasha sector were you will be able to view the tree climbing lions and many other animal species including the birds, buffalos, elephants, kobs, monkeys and many more.

After breakfast, drive to do your last game drive in Ishasha to look for tree climping lions again. After, embark Bwindi forest a home to Mountain gorillas covering an area of 331 sq km., also enjoy various spectacular landscapes on your way. Arrive in bwindi national park and have a guided nature walk, have dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge of your choice.

Have an early morning breakfast and drive to find the park offices for briefing about Mountain Gorilla trekking by the park warden then connect to the forest to search for the gorillas. The time taken is usually between 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Meeting the gorillas unexpectedly is one of the most captivating lifetime experiences. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures at a very close range. After one (1) hour with the long-awaited gorillas, your ranger guide will lead you back to the starting point where your driver will readily be waiting to transfer you back to the lodge for a restful evening. Have dinner overnight stay at lodge as above.
After your morning breakfast, you will be picked up by your guide and transfers you to Lake Mburo National Park, which is a small but rich National park seated on an area of 371 sq km. Lake Mburo National Park is home to a big number of Zebras, antelopes, warthogs, reed bucks, oribis and a number of bird species. On your way, you will go through the rolling terraced hills of Kabale, having a stopover in Mbarara for lunch -The land of milk and honey.
Upon arrival you will check in at the lodge, later head for a guided nature walk through the park. Have dinner and an overnight at the lodge.

In the morning have breakfast at your lodge, thereafter set out for a game drive through the park where your eyes will be fed with amazing sights and wildlife such as Impalas, Kobs, antelopes, also different bird species. After, head back to your lodge for lunch.
After, preparation for an unforgettable experience on the afternoon boat ride along the lake. Still a lot of animals will be seen like the crocodiles, and hippos among others. After head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, have a game drive through the park as you embark on your journey back to Kampala. Have lunch en route with a stopover around the equator to have experiments and take enough photos. Later arrive in Kampala or Entebbe in the evening or a drop off at the Airport in Entebbe just in case you have a flight on that day.
