WHISPERS OF THE WILD
This is the smallest of the Savannah parks in Uganda and the only park with an entire lake within its borders. Lake Mburo National Park is a very special place; every part of it is alive with variety, interest and colour. The attractive 158 square miles acacia-dotted savanna of Olea and Boscia is home to 68 mammal species. The Park contains an extensive area of wetland and harbors several species of mammals not found anywhere else in Uganda, including zebra and impala. The 315 bird species include the rare Shoebill Stork and African Fin foot.
THE ACTIVITIES WE DO
We offer to our potential clients Game drives in Lake Mburo national park. The drives here are not for long compared to other parks because of its small size. However with its small size, it is surprisingly that the park is a home to a diversity of plants and animals protecting several species of mammals and birds. It is also the only home to the Impala in Uganda. The iconic animal of Lake Mburo has to be the Zebra with all its beauty and calmness. We also expect our clients to see the Giraffes, Buffalos, Antelopes, Leopards, and Hyenas. (Travel to Uganda with “Vienna tours and travel for your travel success”).
This is another fascinating activity that we offer in this park. This park is the birding destination in Uganda and is one of the parks that make Uganda a number one tourism destination. We expect our potential clients to witness the truth and give a good testimony after viewing many different creative bird life that live in this park. Remember that moving to Lake Mburo national park for birding is so rewarding and the experience is so long lasting. (Travel to Uganda for birding with Vienna tours and travel, your satisfaction our success”).
The boat ride on Lake Mburo gets you in touch with the flora and fauna of the lake. Along the bank, we expect our clients to see lots of animals coming to the water especially during the dry season. There are hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, antelopes, zebras, also 3 kinds of otters are found in the lake itself. When it comes to birds, we expect our clients to see Malachite Kingfishers, Pied Kingfishers, African Fish Eagles, Rufous Long-tailed Starlings, Blue-headed Weavers, Green-necked Doves, Hamerkop, Pelicans, Herons, Cormorants and even rare Shoebill Storks. A boat safari on Lake Mburo will allow you to see both crocodiles and hippos up close in their natural habitat and continues to be a major attraction in the park.
What sets Lake Mburo national Park apart from others is the Nature walk. Here, nature walks can be taken anywhere within the park with an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger Guide at your side. On an early morning guided walk we expect our clients to encounter hyenas who are returning to their dens after a night of being on the prowl – at the same time our clients can see hippos returning from grazing during the night and returning to Lake Mburo to keep cool during the day and protect their sensitive skin from the sun. On a nature walk, our clients will often see Zebras, Giraffes, Eland, Topi and other antelopes, buffaloes, many bird species and varieties of butterflies. Reaching the Trail to the top of the hills, you will see Lake Mburo and beyond, from this vantage point you have a great view of 9 of the regional lakes found in the area.
